Network Quality Testing and Evaluation Solution

SZMCC Network Quality Testing and Evaluation Solution (2008)

This solution utilizes ASCOM TEMS Automatic to conduct the automated testing for both GSM voice and GPRS data service to include the powerful back-end functionalities. The Hantele analysis mined the vast volume of date with great details to evaluation the existing problem. Our investigation identified the potential problems and our solutions team provided technical support to NOC to initiate precautionary actions. The content of the services includes: regular maintenance and health check to TEMS Automatic system, regular automated testing on the key roads, daily analysis of the identified problems, C/I analysis based on the collected testing data, analysis on the coverage of dominant serving cells and others.

(A) Daily analysis to problem area, quickly identify the potential problem of the network

From the back-end analysis module of TA, Hantele quickly founded the root of the problem. From the presence of the major indicators related to radio performance (Rxlev, Rxqual, C/I, dominant cell coverage distance), Hantele can judge whether the problem was induced by excessive coverage causing weak signal, low C/I and bad voice quality. The problems were highlighted and resolution was recommended to take measures of control coverage to solve the problems.

(B) Analysis of C/I, reduce the interference;

By sampling from the volume of data, Hantele analyzed and evaluated the BCCH C/I situation comprehensively throughout a city network for the duration of one month. From the macro view of analysis, the average of C/I value is above 16db for almost 65 frequency, which is acceptable. Only the C/I of BCCH36 is lower than 13.75db. Hantele further analyzed the customer data to allocate the specified cell and take measures of coverage control and frequency optimization. This eliminated the potential problem of the low frequency problem.
